Aikido and Mindfulness

Aikido is all about mindfulness, I think. We must be mindful of ourselves, our partner, our purpose, and the energy we use to accomplish that purpose. We are mindful as we receive the partner's energy and redirect it, return it and resolve it. On the mat, as in life, we become more mindful as we practice.

I recently read a very helpful offering on "The Aikido of Mindful Communication" on Marguerite Manteau-Rao's Mind Deep Blog. Take a moment to see how Marguerite applies aikido's entering and blending principles to verbal interactions.

Good ki!
